Position Summary

The Presale Representative is responsible for the distribution and sales of all specialty brands distributed by Double Eagle Distributing (DED) in the assigned territory. Works autonomously to ensure the successful sale, volume and rate of sale growth, distribution, brand presence and positioning of our premium beer portfolio within the assigned territory. Will also be responsible for achieving sales and distribution goals; achieving retail account standards objectives, and for merchandising and overall quality assurance of DED products.

  • Maintain required call/visit frequency in assigned pre-sales accounts in order to achieve sales goals and objectives. Goals include full-line selling, dominant display execution, current POS merchandising and securing price and ad feature activities.
  • Follow Retail Account Standard Supplier shelf management goals. Aggressively solicit displayed ad feature activity, secure primary position of DED permanent and paper POS in accordance with the Retail Account Standards. Track and measure performance by account.
  • Achieve Monthly Sales Objectives in assigned territory.
  • Manage inventory and follow a rotation schedule for all DED products in assigned accounts according to a planned schedule of every account/ minimum once per month, or as frequently as necessary to insure fresh product.
  • Maintain store shelf standards including checking date codes, processing restocks and reorders as necessary according to DED/Customer standards.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer rapport.
  • Report competitive information including pricing, post-off activity, special promotions and new product introduction.
  • Pursue new opportunities for portfolio distribution and grow brand presence within existing accounts to achieve monthly sales goals.
  • Work closely with your DSM, local client and distributor partner(s) for market alignment and results.
  • Leverage brand approved assets to bring awareness to and promote our premium beer brands through features, sampling and education.
  • Sell-in and build brand displays according to off-premise standards.
  • Assist in executing impactful promotions and educational presentations, both independently and with team members, at accounts.
  • Communicate special delivery instructions to delivery personnel and Route Supervisor on a daily basis. Inform Supervisor of all customer/retailer complaints.
  • Update account information on a weekly basis along with submitting status change reports of all account or route changes.
  • Keep assigned customers current with DED credit terms and adhering to State and DED credit regulations and policies.
  • Responsible for attending mandatory sales, supplier and breakout meetings.
  • Utilize Encompass and any other internal information systems to strategically plan and own your sales strategy.
  • Implement quality execution and brand visibility through POS according to standards.
  • Maintain open communication with HQ and field personnel.
  • Ensure compliance of all alcoholic beverage regulations and company and client policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Have high school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree a Plus
  • 1-3 years demonstrated sales experience, preferably in beer, wines or spirits
  • Previous on or off premise, distributor, or retail work experience is a plus
  • Must have valid Florida driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Must have insured personal vehicle (coverage limit 100/300) for transportation between accounts.
  • Must be proficient with handheld devices and have good computer skills
  • Have good oral and written communication skills
  • Possess solid customer service and superb interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Possess solid negotiation, organizational and planning skills
  • Be well-groomed and have a professional appearance
  • Must be able to lift and move cases of product frequently
  • Must be able to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point of sale
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, as needed
