Primary Function: The job of Manager, Learning Innovation is done for the purpose/s of providing leadership, guidance, support, development, management and coordination to the Division of Information Services Learning Innovation Specialist (LIS) team in the design and implementation of leading edge solutions for staff work efficiency and effectiveness, professional development, enhanced pedagogy, curriculum, blended learning, personalized learning, and instructional design models.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Educational Level: Master's degree in job-related area; Post-graduate education or training in technology preferred.

2. Certification/License: Valid Professional Georgia Teacher certification; Educational Leadership certification

3. Experience: Minimum of five years successful teaching experience.

4. Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Actively leads, promotes, designs, develops, and supports innovative solutions in teaching, learning, curriculum, and professional development for the purpose of effectively accomplishing the district’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Actively leads and manages the development and support of the Learning Innovation Specialists team for the purpose of integrating innovated solutions to promote excellence and support transformation throughout the Muscogee County School District.
  • Assists district leadership with creating and implementing innovative solutions in enhanced pedagogy, curriculum, blended learning, personalized learning, and instructional design models for relevant and engaging learning experiences for the purpose of supporting the essential instructional mission of the district.
  • Assists with eliminating the status quo in order to implement new innovated solutions, best practices and supports for the purpose of supporting the core vision and mission of the district.
  • Attends and leads meetings for the purpose of actively working to build positive partnerships throughout the district to better serve customers in meeting their business/training/learning objectives
  • Leads the development of resources, seminars, courses, workshops, and/or professional development for the purpose of disseminating information about the uses of innovative solutions.
  • Leads and supports the LIS team in training district staff for the purpose of implementing innovative solutions effectively for maximizing learning, work efficiency, and return on investment.
  • Leads and provides expertise and support in applying blended learning, personalized learning, and instructional design methodologies for the purpose of developing, implementing, and evaluating face-to-face hybrid and online courses.
  • Leads and supports the planning, organizing, designing, and execution of digital video content and studio production projects for the purpose of training, professional development, distance learning and/or MCSD School Board meetings.
  • Provides leadership, support, and professional development for various educational tools and platforms (e.g. MCSD’s Learning Management System, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the core instructional mission of the district.
  • Researches and evaluates innovative solutions to enhance the district professional development, curriculum, and content for the purpose of supporting the essential instructional mission of the district.
  • Serves as a liaison and/or leader within the Division of Information Services during project implementations by providing instructional support and other duties as assigned for the purpose of implementing key initiatives associated with the district’s strategic Technology Blueprint.
  • Serves as a leader within the Division of Information Services in hardware and software purchasing decision related to instructional uses of technology; facilitates the development of best practices in technology-related building procedures for the purpose of actively working to build vigorous partnerships throughout the district to better serve our customers in meeting their business/training/learning objectives.
  • Stays abreast of future innovations’ research/methodologies (e.g. conferences, webinars, online courses, journals, literature, vendor information and meetings, technological updates, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating and maintaining current working knowledge of new and emerging innovative solutions as well as district/state/federal rules, regulations, and policies to support the core instructional mission of the district.
  • Works in partnership with the Division of Teaching and Learning’s Professional Development team, the Division of Human Resources, and the Technology Project Manager to create, schedule, plan, and assess district classes for the purpose of providing professional development opportunities to district employees.
