Job Description:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will service assigned NIBA clients and will develop new clients, by networking, using existing personally known contacts, and identifying new firms with a strong likelihood of becoming NIBA clients, in the assigned area.Full product presentations (which requires that a large sampling of rugs be on hand generally 3-4 large cases) will be made to prospective clients to thoroughly acquaint them with NIBA’s total scope of product and services.Provide clients with design information and value engineering as it relates to NIBA’s product offering.The BDM is responsible for: Qualifying prospective clients and their projects; Scheduling and making presentations to prospective and existing clients.BDM is to understand the client’s design preferences; Identify upcoming projects; Prepare and present proposals, and to follow up on outstanding proposals in a timely manner to close the order.

Accountable Responsibilities:

  • Organize an annual calendar to include regular visits to clients and/or territories based on their existing or potential business.
  • Servicing all clientele in the assigned territory on the road as is applicable. Activities will include: full introductory presentations, catalogue updates, coordination of mailing or delivery of rug samples, poms, renderings, and other sales activities as may be deemed appropriate.BDM will also make service calls as needed for quality control issues, which may occur with NIBA’s products and or services.
  • Develop strong and solid long term clients that exclusively buy current and future NIBA products.
  • Maintain current records in the company’s customer relationship management software program, Results. All information related to potential clients, potential projects/orders, and orders will be maintained in the CRM program as directed by management.
  • Educate and assist designers in all aspects of the rug design/manufacture/installation process and the “Full Service” provided by NIBA.Assist clients in recommending rug designs/materials/colors that compliment the client’s design scheme and physical parameters of the project.The goal is for NIBA to provide all of the rugs that may be required for the total project. The Business Development Manager should visit clients in their offices on a regular basis to review the entire project’s requirements, including the plans.The BDM then will make recommendations and eventually proposals that will meet the client’s needs for the entire project.
  • The Business Development Manager must have familiarity with all competitors and their products to include, but not be limited to: Lapchi, Odegard, Rosemary Hallgarten, Emma Gardner, Elson and Company, Tufenkian, Rug Company, and Tai Ping. Educate clients on the differences between NIBA and its competitors as well as elaborate on the unique qualities that set us apart from all other rug companies.
  • Attend all important NIBA Rug Showroom events to include: parties, luncheons, trade shows, outside showroom presentations and/or training sessions etc.
  • Utilize the experience of the CEO, Beth Arrowood, for any questions that you may have relating to making a sale, product information, a client’s history, and or closing on an order.
  • Communication relating to sales opportunities with management is required.The primary communication tool is the program “Results”; however communication may also be accomplished with phone calls or management meetings as needed.The vast majority of the communication will be accomplished utilizing Results.This enables automatic communication regarding sales opportunities with management, thereby requiring that accurate information be input in a timely manner.
  • Response to Client Requests: Manager must adhere to NIBA Rug’s mandatory 24-hour response policy as follows: Respond to all e-mails and/or sending of samples or other requests to the client within 24 hours.When a request for a proposal is received you are to advise the client within 24 hours of receiving the request of when the proposal will be delivered.Our policy is to get back to clients within 24 hours of their inquiry.Proposals are to be delivered within 48 hours of the request including the rendering and GT&C.Upon receipt of a “request for proposal” Manager is to create the job folder immediately.If you are unable to create the folder, direct the Miami Showroom Assistant to do this for you.Requests for custom design renderings will be submitted to the Miami Showroom Assistant.The Assistant will coordinate the rendering’s production and provide you with an expected delivery date and once completed notification of delivery.Revisions to the rendering, if required, will also be directed to the Assistant.
  • In the event you are unable to accommodate a client request in compliance with the policy, you may utilize the support of the Miami sales assistant or Office Manager.This is available to you because your time is better spent introducing and selling the product.

BDM should average two to three days of outside sales calls per week (with 3-4 full presentations each day). Office time should be used for booking appointments and liaising with sales and support staff to follow up on existing proposals and close pending sales opportunities.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS Degree preferably in an Interior Design or Architectural related field
  • Completely Fluent in English (Spoken and Written)
  • Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese (Spoken and Written)
  • Experience with High End Clients looking for Luxury goods
  • Fully capable of using CRM programs

Experienced in MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint for the preparation of Presentations, Analyses, and correspondence

Compensation: $45,000 - $50,000 Depending on Experience plus Commission gor a total package worth over $100,000
