Responsible for leading, coaching, and holding the 3PL Strategic Account Manager (SAM) team accountable for results. Will work in tandem with the Dir-3PL Sales, and various leadership groups, to build a best in class 3PL SAM team. Responsible for assisting in developing the strategic direction of the 3PL Sales Channel and initiatives while also responsible for overseeing the daily execution of the SAMs. Responsible for instilling our channel’s core values in every team member, driving growth and yield goal attainment, and maximizing the output of the 3PL Sales Pod structure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with the Dir-3PL Sales to develop strategic direction of the SAM group.
  • Execute with the SAM group as part of the overall POD structure.
  • Monitor Growth and Yield attainment and industry trends while balancing internal/external feedback to establish best practices for SAM responsibilities.
  • Train, mentor, develop, and hold accountable the SAMs to their behavioral expectations and Key Performance Goal Objectives.
  • Represent the team in various meetings across all operating companies to ensure equal representation of all YRCW brands is executed.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining the culture of the SAM team through effective leadership.
  • Develop new processes and ensure 100% compliance of all existing processes to ensure team is running at maximum efficiency and exceeding goals.
  • Collaborate with every operating company’s leadership teams in Pricing, Finance, IT, Operations, Business Intelligence and Sales to implement cohesive strategies across all operating companies.
  • Ensure the Strategic Account Manager team drives growth by fully implementing the Managing Commitment and Account Onboarding processes.
  • Ensure the Strategic Account Manager team protects existing business by effectively managing the Account in Jeopardy and Churn processes.
  • Build plans for continuous education for every member of the team around industry trends as well as internal process changes.
  • Build a bench for the 3PL Corporate Account Executive role by developing SAMs with the skill and will to advance.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Five (5) years transportation experience.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years direct management experience of multiple direct reports.
  • Experience with strategic tools such as but not limited to Tableau, PDC, and CAMP.
  • Data analytics proficiency.
  • Experience leading or primary involvement in strategic projects.


WORKING CONDITIONS


This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
