The Selling Specialist is a role designed primarily to serve customers on the sales floor, while also focusing on “interruptible” tasks, like recovery and fitting room maintenance. This person seeks out customers, answers their questions and assists them as needed. Full-time associates are eligible for full benefits and must have open availability - days, evenings, weekends, holidays - 7 days per week.
Essential Functions:
Impact sales both by helping and pleasing customers, and by employing high-level selling skills
Project a friendly, warm “face” toward customers
Help make customer’s experience with the store enjoyable
Keep their assigned sales floor zone recovered, and fitting rooms clean
Assist with unpredictably bust times as POS

Essential Functions:
- Approach all customers within their assigned zone and offer service, using appropriate approaches
- Provide assistance to those customers who require it
- Actively solicit Belk Credit
- Provide Fitting Room service
- Regularly check for fitting room cleanliness
- Receive phone inquires from customers about merchandise, after screening by Manager on Duty
- Locate merchandise at other Belk locations for customers as requested
- Provide alterations assistance to customers
- Perform recovery of sales floor
- Pick up debris off of the sales floor
- Assist customers at POS when that is the most important form of customer service
- Answer call buttons and provide service as required

Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to use computer keyboard, touchscreen monitor, handheld devices, standard telephone and other related business equipment.
- Hand manipulation to remove sensor tags
- Ability to push / pull 100-500 pounds when moving stock carts
- Task demands vary in each department because of the different types of merchandise. Stocking requirements can involve reaching above & below shoulder level and lifting 25-50 pound boxes.
