ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all current and potential customers to maximize opportunities with new and used equipment through sales, rpo’s and rentals.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty at all times.
  • Conduct machine demonstrations in a thorough and professional manner, including follow-up after the presentation sale.
  • Develop and acquire new customers in assigned territory utilizing scheduled appointments, cold calling, professional quality sales presentations and demonstrations.
  • Complete Sales Department paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Obtain Sales Manager approval on orders requiring approval.
  • Develop and present a sales forecast on a monthly basis.
  • Develop and present a customer sales strategy for target accounts on an annual basis.
  • Enable Cashman to achieve its objective of Safely Home. Everyone. Every Day. ™ by promoting a positive safety culture and adhering to all company safety policies, procedures and practices.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Company assets, including vehicles, kept in a condition to reflect the professionalism of the sales position.
  • Comply with policies of safe driving and vehicle use. Ensure company vehicle is properly serviced and kept in a safe operating condition.
  • Prepares and submits requested sales reports.
  • Knowledgeable of competitor trends and pricing.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and safety regulations. Use all safety equipment necessary. Report any unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent phone and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar and dealer operations, product line and components.
  • Knowledge and practice in fundamentals of good salesmanship prospecting, telemarketing, preparing an effective sales presentation, use of sales aids, closing, etc.
  • Proficient computer technology skills, including ability to utilize company authorized software.
  • Meets annual PINs goals and monthly sales goals established for sales territory.
  • Effectively participates as part of the team, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Ability to think and act independently with organizations goals in mind.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers, customers and the general public.
  • Achieves customer focus by delivering high quality, cost effective service.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma, GED or trade school equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and communications skills.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience preferred in direct customer contact in parts, service, sales and rental of heavy equipment.

  • Professional attitude and appearance consistent with position and responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented; work with minimum supervision.
  • Stand/walk 1-4 hours a day, and/or sit 5-6 hours a day.
  • Occasionally/frequently lift 50 lbs.
  • Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
  • Must be able to occasionally bend, squat and climb including ability to ascend and descend ladders.

  • Valid Nevada driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Occasional travel and overnight stays.
