PATIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

JOB SUMMARY

The Patient Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for patients, acting as information conduit between the patient and the physician practice. They will be responsible for welcoming visitors and patients by verbally acknowledging and offering assistance, inquiring about reason for visit and responding appropriately based on needs, arranging for visitor to meet with necessary personnel and preparing and providing information and documentation. Additionally, the Patient Service Representative will be responsible for managing patient appointments, physician schedules and coordinating follow-up and ancillary services for patients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

  • Previous experience in customer service field required
  • Experience in medical office preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred

Other Skills Required:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent customer relation skills required
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to handle multiple programs at once
  • Comfort with data entry
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required
