SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager will be based in Waterloo, IA and will work out of remote DECU offices as needed to cover for time off or for longer periods when necessary. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for assisting members with their loan, deposit and all other financial service needs. The Business Development Manager will be our onsite representative to both members and key John Deere contacts in the absence of the assigned Business Development Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Integrates the credit union philosophy and operating principles and diligently promotes the credit union's Mission Statement into work habits, processes, and service delivery systems.
- Responsible for daily credit union business including asset management, record retention, cash management, inventory, daily reconciliations, and office security.
- Searches for opportunities to promote products and service-usage to members that would benefit members and enhance their economic well-being.
- Coordinates and carries out deposit, lending, and member services functions in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures.
- Serves members in many capacities - loan representative, member service representative, and marketing representative as needed.
- Works directly with members and sales leadership to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area.
- Develops and implements plans and schedules for efficient and outstanding service-delivery.
- Meets or exceeds unit sales goals for new members and accounts, loans, new deposits, ancillary products, and services per household.
- Creates and implements an annual business plan specific to the John Deere unit and participates in annual budget planning
- Integrates into culture and develops key contacts at the John Deere unit, to include integration into the new hire process.
- Represents DECU with a professional image. Ensures that the office image is favorable, reflecting a sound and secure financial institution that employs prudent housekeeping procedures, safety measures, and provides a pleasant atmosphere for members, including privacy, confidentiality, and ease of use.
- Travels overnight for up to two weeks at a time, and requires frequent and extended out of town travel.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business or Finance, or equivalent experience with a verifiable record of success in a sales role and proven ability to build relationships.
