Front Desk Manager

Previous Front Desk experience preferred. The successful candidate will be able to provide excellent customer service to guests staying at the hotel.

Responsible for overall operation of the Front Desk, which includes room rental, reservation management, team member staffing, training, record keeping, report preparation, guest relations and other tasks as needed. Must have a flexible work schedule with the availability to work different shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all duties at the Front Desk as necessary.
  • Work productively with General Manager, Director of Sales, and all Front Office staff to ensure proper room inventory controls.
  • Runs Front Desk shifts whenever necessary.
  • Coordinate with our Sales Team to plan and schedule groups accordingly for arrival, departure, amenity deliveries, and any special requests that may arise during their stay.
  • Utilize shift checklists and the management checklist.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensures daily procedures meet or exceed those audited in the brand standards audit, the internal audit, and the safety audit. Models, coaches and deliver brand service standard.
  • Supervises all areas of the Front Office in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ensures department delivers brand service standards.
  • Supervises Front Desk shift operations and ensures compliance with all policies, standards and procedures.
  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Interacts with customers to obtain feedback on quality of product, service levels and overall satisfaction.
  • Ensues the department follows appropriate service recovery mechanisms (Service Recovery Log as well as other brand standards).
  • Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Facilitates departmental meetings (when necessary) and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the Front Desk goals to produce desired results.
  • Remains current on training and brand standards.
  • Has full knowledge and understanding of our company’s handbook, SOP’s and processes; adheres to and enforces those in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Participates and conducts team meetings, property MOD program, and weekly staff meetings (when necessary)
  • Brings issues concerning employee satisfaction to the attention of the General Manager.
  • Supports a departmental orientation program for employees to receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job.
  • Promotes teamwork and associate morale. Ensures staff receives timely and effective orientation certification training and review.
  • Ensures all staff can perform roles in an emergency situation.
  • This position requires 24/7 availability and may include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing to help anywhere including Breakfast, Housekeeping, Light Maintenance, and Front Desk.
  • You are the KEY employee at this hotel. YOU are the backbone of the hotel and will help out any way possible.

Salary: $33,500.00 to $35,000.00 /year
