Inside Sales Representative
Department: Stores
Reports To: Store Manager and Assistant Manager
General Description Executes all point of sale functions by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Functions include the following, other activities may be assigned:

  • Offer excellent customer service by greeting customers as they enter the store or call on the phone, and by answering their questions concerning availability, price, and use of merchandise.

  • Sell Barton’s merchandise and assist other partners in selling product while always focusing on offering excellent customer service and getting repeat business.

Responsibilities

Job Duties must perform the following duties in order to achieve essential job functions, other duties may be assigned:

Uses point of sale computer system to total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill.

Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise, and sets up advertising displays to promote sales.

Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise.

Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.

Accepts payment and makes change.

Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.

Cleans shelves, counters, or tables.

Participates in training programs both on and off site.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
