Overview

The Compensation Specialist role assist in the design, execution, communication and compliance of Kaman Distribution Group’s compensation programs. In this position you report to and work directly with the Director of Compensation and you will play an integral role in supporting and coordinating across multiple business platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the administration of company compensation programs (e.g., merit, incentive programs, annual bonus) by running eligibility reports, conducting data integrity audits, and providing analytics to HR Business Partners.
  • Completes annual salary surveys.
  • Maintains and evaluates job descriptions
  • Participate in the review and evaluation of employee salary data, job evaluations and competitive market pay to identify trends, possible inconsistencies or outliers, etc.
  • Participate in the review of all of the sales incentive programs.
  • Produce ad hoc and weekly or monthly standard compensation reports using ADP and Excel
  • Conduct data audits and support data integrity processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity in HRIS systems
  • Assists with annual review of salary structure.
  • Create job codes and maintain job code/title system.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Human Resources


Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years compensation related experience and knowledge in sales incentive plans, job evaluation and market analysis, base and incentive pay and compensation program and system administration
  • Sales and/or Distribution experience preferred
  • Knowledge in human resources practices, laws and regulations, specifically the Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and oral presentation skills in order to interpret, explain, discuss and present technical and somewhat complex information
  • Analytical and problem solving skills in order to evaluate and assist in the development of innovative solutions to situations while applying Total Rewards experience
  • Knowledge of software programs including Microsoft Office. Strong Excel skills in order to develop and maintain spreadsheets and perform data analysis
  • Familiarity with ADP is preferred
  • Must be discrete and maintain the highest confidentiality with extremely sensitive data
