The Primary role of the Career Development Specialist (CDS) is to serve the public, including individuals with various barriers to employment and Goodwill employees, with job placement assistance and referrals to community resources. The CDS interacts with Goodwill Industries’ Workforce Development and Retail division staff and management, the public, employers and community service providers. The CDS provides services to individuals with a wide variety of barriers to employment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in, Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Services, Psychology, or related area preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years case management and/or related experience, working with individuals one on one and in groups.
- Must be familiar with job market, job search techniques and local community resources and support services.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to conduct workshops and/or classes with the ability to motivate and empower.
- Must have advanced computer skills; MSOffice: Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Must have experience and knowledge in the employment and business market and social services sector.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and work independently running a center.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.
- Must be able to travel and transfer to all Goodwill sites as necessary.
