JOB SUMMARY:
This position supports both large and small group new sales team with data entry and workflow processing for quoting and renewing accounts. Sales team, responsibilities include triaging of new business opportunities for large and small group market segments, managing quote requests, data entry of all information into sales systems, ensuring accuracy of information and completing all workflow process. Additional responsibilities include creating and distributing SBCs and managing various communications for clients and brokers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Triaging and processing of high volume quote requests for Large Group and quote production for Small Group in the sales and underwriting (U/W) systems. Responsible for managing standard, non-complex, quote requests.
(Complex quotes or quote requests with any issue or concern from brokers are escalated to Sales and Service Coordinator II to resolve or address.)
Managing all aspects of the prospecting systems data entry, ensuring data quality, ongoing updating of information, and the completion missing data. Supports all broker licensing inquires, and basic license updates, and broker portal (Web) access.
This role requires the ability to learn and apply new technical procedures / concepts and adjust to frequent change in work demands.
Processing and distributing SBCs to brokers on a timely basis. Managing coordination and distribution of Welcome kits to new clients when sales process is complete.
Follow-up on all outstanding quotes with U/W department as necessary.
Be available to brokers/clients for questions and staff the broker 1-800 hotline as required.
Provide inside customer service as support of the sale team.
Assist in resolving complaints/concerns and assure prompt attention.
Work effectively with other operational departments: Enrollment, Premium Billing, Plan Benefits, Customer Service and U/W; etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
EXPERIENCE:
- This role requires minimum of 1 year business support or customer service experience, preferably in managed health care.
- Additional experience providing sales / service support with PC skills preferred.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate must be able to work cooperatively as a team member and demonstrate well developed relationship building skills. Individual must cooperate positively as a team member exhibiting flexibility and open-mindedness. Must be well organized, detail oriented, demonstrate initiative and adhere to Tufts Health Plan (THP) corporate compliance policies. This role requires interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively with a broad spectrum of people, both internally and externally, in person, via email and on the telephone. This role also requires a general understanding of THP products and services.
This position requires the ability to act independently, use a computer and demonstrates a strong technical aptitude by learning a variety of THP internal systems, complex operational workflows, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Fast paced office environment requiring management of multiple tasks both with and without deadlines by prioritizing, planning, coordinating and following through consistently. The successful candidate must be able to exercise appropriate judgment, communicate effectively and present grammatically correct information both oral and in writing. Overtime may be required complete various individual and /or departmental commitments and responsibilities on time.
