MarJam Supply Company is currently looking to fulfill a full time outside sales position. Must be experienced and aggressive to develop and maintain new and established accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers in person or by phone.
  • Answers questions and advises customers in selection of building materials supplies, and related materials in response to request by the customer.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of MarJam's stocking levels and delivery schedules.
  • Maintaining good customer relations in the performance of job.
  • Prepares Daily Call Reports, keeps expense records and submits paperwork in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into CMSP and quotes in CM.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and other computer software is necessary.
  • Experience in building material sales and general knowledge about construction is ideal, but not necessary.
  • Working with clients and contractors to select drywall, acoustical ceilings, insulation, metal framing and lumber products.
