• Tuscaloosa, AlabamaHotel Capstone is looking for a Sales Manager to join our world class sales team! This position focuses on room sales for our hotel. It is approximately half time inside sales, and half time outside sales.

Major Function:
The Hotel Capstone Sales manager solicits, confirms, and coordinates transient and group sales for hotel. Effectively monitors market position with assigned market(s). Coordinates with the Sales and Catering Manager the handling, maintaining, and development of group business. Makes outside sales calls/trips within existing geographical market.
Essential Functions:
Provides the highest quality of service to the customer at all times by following the Capstone Commitment.
Ensures accurate follow-through of communications on customer needs through agreement letters, customer correspondence, and appropriate inter-regional communications to reservations and property management.
Assists Director of Sales in negotiating profitable customer commitments on business. When negotiating outside agreed upon parameters(i.e. rates, number of room nights, etc.), approval from General Manager should be obtained.
Keeps existing business monitored and satisfied. Is responsible for customer satisfaction through pre-and post-evaluations with customers. Frequent phone and personal visits to existing accounts and other customers. Follows-up group comment forms when appropriate.
Supports use of promotional customer programs.
Develops new business through obtaining accounts from the competition, lateral development of existing accounts and contacting new customers in the market.
Develops quarterly sales forecast recommendations and targets for success and local market assignments.
Maintains accurate records of sales activities and results and analyzes period end results.
Develops strong rapport with customers acting as the liaison with customers and property management.
Represents hotels when necessary to local communities through affiliation with professional business organizations.
Practices safety standards at all times.
Facilitates effective communication with other departments.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Experience:
- Business to Business Sales: 4 years (Preferred)
- Outside Sales: 1 year (Preferred)
