Job Responsibilities

  • Visit prospective accounts and customers to promote products, build relationships and gather information. Monitor sales performance to ensure that goals are met.
  • Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products or personnel. Prepare sales and inventory reports.
  • Develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business- remain current on new products, and product offerings of company and competitors.
  • Develop smooth, efficient and accurate relationships with Inside Sales and Production Support.
  • Attend company meetings to exchange product information, learn about new products and share best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of Pressure Treated Wood industry experience or business to business sales experience required
  • Knowledge of procurement market and competitive pricing preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to prepare detailed and complex reports utilizing prescribed procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems, internet (including but not limited to e-mail) as well as word, database, spreadsheet, graphic, presentation and communication processing programs
  • Must possess superior industry and product knowledge
  • Must have the ability and the motivation to continually seek new accounts, maintain existing accounts and efficiently manage growth of the business
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Must be able to communicate and develop effective relationships with customers, executive leaders and community members
  • Must be able to perform mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently
  • Must be able to maintain composure and perform effectively under pressure, develop and grow customer relationships and display a positive outlook during any, and all, situations
  • Must be willing and able to travel based upon requirements of the position with occasional weekend travel; required travel is 75%
  • Must be willing to reside within sales territory (MS, AL, AR)
  • Must be neatly groomed and present a good appearance at all times
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license with exceptional driving record
  • Must provide own reliable vehicle and insurance within required limits
