OVERVIEW

The Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying and developing strategic business relationships and other potential customers.


WORK SCHEDULE

Must have open availability to travel to and work at any location and potentially be away from home for short periods of time. May be required to work non-standard shifts, any time any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Employment is “at will” and subject to change depending on departmental needs.


ESSSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Externally recognized by and currently connected to the Power and OGC markets.
  • Identifies and leads capturing strategic clients and quality revenue-generating opportunities in the Mechanical Sector of the Power and OGC markets.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the industry through participation in professional organizations, and develops and maintains strong relationships.
  • Identifies and analyzes market trends and principal market drivers based on such factors as regulations, the economy, political considerations, and competitive information; and develops strategies responsive to these market changes and opportunities.
  • Develops and manages budgets associated with both market development and specific project developmental efforts.
  • Coordinates the planning, positioning and persuasion processes associated with pursuit of specific project opportunities, including identifying proposal and delivery teams within the firm.
  • Establishes and maintains prospect tracking and sales forecasting tools for all work.
  • Provides tactical recommendations for implementing specific market and project development strategies. Tracks teams, partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures.
  • Stewards the development of strategic clients, and prioritizes and/or leads strategic sales efforts.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction, or Engineering is highly preferred
  • 7 years of combined experience in Power and OGC sectors
  • 3 or more years in a business development role
  • Good overall understanding of Mechanical work = Boilers, Piping, Turbines, etc.
  • Strong negotiation skills and adept at interpersonal relationship building and conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
  • Frequently lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds, occasionally lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Climb up and down ladders,scaffolds and otherobjects with tools and equipment
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Acceptable visual acuity for near, far and color
  • naturally or with correction
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Good physicalfitness
  • Good sense ofbalance

TOOL REQUIREMENTS (minimum)

  • Rain Coat or Poncho.
  • Steel toed or Composite toed Work Boots.
  • Safety protection required by work, job site and customer

ENVIRONMENT

Business Development professionals work mostly in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site and weather conditions occur. Some locations expose workers to harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, loud noise or dangerous machinery. Some
workers may be exposed to lead based paint, asbestos, or other hazardous substances. To avoid injury, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, must be worn in all areas as required. While not considered inherently dangerous, they must be especially alert to safely follow procedures and must deal with a variety of hazards and exercise care while performing onsite services.
