Support the increase of revenue for the Region through exceptional customer service and sales initiatives and will be instrumental in supporting the Region in reaching its business plan through profitable revenue generation. Direct leadership of all Rental Specialists in assigned region geography. This is a high-level position with a greater than average degree of autonomy. This position reports to the General Manager, Rents. Rental Specialists operating in the assigned region of responsibility will report directly to the Region Rental Sales Manager.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the General Manager and Region Rental Manager to establish territories, rental revenue targets, rental rollout targets, and new account targets
  • Provide coaching and guidance to Rental Specialists through field ride-alongs, territory management, regular sales meetings, annual performance reviews, and drive accountability for all Rental Specialists' established targets
  • Lead sales blitzes and initiate other customer-focused events to improve business relationships and drive sales penetration within the Region
  • Promote Key Account (National Account, Strategic Account, and assigned Account) revenue generation within the Region working cooperatively with the Region Rental Manager, General Manager, and Caterpillar National Account
  • Promote efficient and optimal use of the Rents CRM, dynamic pricing tools, rental operating system, and other system resources
  • Work together with the Region Rental Manager and Operations Managers to develop new markets, to understand market trends, competition and other matters affecting the profitability of the Region and Rents organization
  • Work with operations leaders to resolve customer complaints
  • Assist with the assessment of market potential of new and existing store locations
  • Any and all duties assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related business field preferred
  • 10 plus years of successful outside sales, sales management or management experience
  • Proven planning, problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal (oral and written) communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office applications and CRM
  • Ability to manage time and multi-task with little to no supervision
  • The ideal candidate will have proven presentation skills and demonstrate effective sales orientation
  • Self-starter with strong self-imposed structure with organizational skills and business acumen
  • The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality is required
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products is preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of construction equipment rental industry or dealership experience a plus
