Under general supervision, this position has the responsibility of procuring service parts orders from NAFTA sourced suppliers for all internal/external customers and to directly influence and continually improve the service level to both the Rest-of-World and NAFTA markets for service parts through uninterrupted availability.



Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)

Monitor and process all routine and critical service parts orders from external and internal customers within the Daimler organization.

Optimize parts ordering flow in conjunction with the Inventory Management and Warehouse Management Teams at MBUSI.

Prioritize the critical parts in case of backorder situations in collaboration with the supplier regarding machining capacity.

Escalation of critical parts to the management of the supplier especially in case of Vehicle Off the Road (VOR) in the Aftersales Market.

Monitor all past due deliveries from the supplier and set up equality counter measures for on time deliveries.

Work daily with the Order Management System (e.g. order report, web tools, SMB/BBM/BKM) regarding availability and on time delivery.

Regular analysis of the parts portfolio regarding backorders, VOR, past due and on-time delivery.

Coordinate and prioritize the logistic movement of inbound material with the Inventory Management and Warehouse
Management Teams at MBUSI, putting to use excellent organizational skills.

Ensure parts flow and on-time delivery through order optimization and proper supplier communication.

Collaborate and communicate clearly with Inventory and Warehouse Management Teams for the timely release and ordering of parts supply to the market for both routine and critical needs such as: Part supersessions, parts banks, final stock, lifetime-buy and service actions.

Support internally the Service Engineering / Service Information Team by securing adequate material for service campaigns, technical work instructions and critical service actions in the field.

Work together with the responsible departments at MBUSI series production regarding Series Demands and with After-Sales Purchasing regarding contract related issues and the appropriate departments in the Global Logistics Center (GLC) in case of supplier related issues.

Create and generate custom queries and reports based on business needs.
Guide analysis and discussion of issues to resolve conflicts and drive collaboration across the organization.
Support the phase-in of service parts for past and current products.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in material planning and control, logistic processes in the aftersales business, forecasting and parts procurement

Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Working knowledge of relational databases and best practices regarding the phase-in of service parts for past and current products
Working knowledge of MS Office (MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point)

Preferred Skills:
Written and verbal Spanish language skills
