Application Support Specialist Job Opening

Reports to: Director of Information Technology
Status: Full-Time

Purpose: If you are somewhere between programming novice and highly seasoned professional and are looking for an opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge across many sectors of I.T. and development, then this may be the position for you. This role is 60%+ programming with ample opportunity to delve into many other technical areas. The ideal candidate will have a software support or programming related degree (MIS/CS/Programming) and experience in a business application support environment. The position will be part of a small, multi-functional I.T. team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and test custom applications to support business operations. Includes coding of designs, unit testing, debugging, modification and version rollout to users. Implement enhancements/feature requests on Legacy custom applications.
• Provide application level support for all Legacy applications, ensuring proper configuration and communication between apps, Data Maintenance, work with I.T. Team to plan and test application upgrade paths/procedures, develop dashboards and customizations as required by departments.
• Create Ad-hoc SQL queries as required to support user information needs. Optimize query performance. Maintain query library.
• Assist I.T. Team and Data Integrity group with ensuring consistency in master data and process/procedure execution to allow for more reliable reporting and big data utilization.

Qualifications:

• Minimum:
• S./A.A. Degree in MIS/CS/Programming and 1 year in a business application support position
• One year of significant programming experience in at least one of C/C++/C#, Java, Python.
• Experience with SQL.
• Problem Solving ability and desire for growth in business development knowledge.
• Preferred:
• S./B.A. in MIS/Computer Science and 2-3 years in a business development position
• Proficiency using Visual Studio, C#, .NET, WinForms
• Solid knowledge of SQL / T-SQL
• Experience with ERP / WMS systems (SAP B1 a plus)
• Exposure/Experience with Agile Methodologies
