Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision, the position is responsible for managing and implementing projects related to fleet and retrofit activities, as well as the administration and cost effective operation of fleet vehicles at MBUSI. Activities include planning, scheduling, communication, tracking, documentation, maintenance, asset disposal, and distribution of vehicles. For retrofit and fleet repair activities, the position will plan and manage daily activities within the shop as well as act as the central point of contact for technicians and internal customers.

Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Manage and coordinate retrofit activities and campaigns including the coordination of manpower and work schedules (i.e. shift and/or weekend work as needed).
Collect, track, analyze, and document all utilization of corporate fleet vehicles.
Monitor fleet vehicle inventory and determine the most cost effective application for inactive vehicles.
Coordinate the replacement of existing fleet vehicles and all aspects of vehicle disposal. Determine the most suitable method for disposing and replacing vehicles. Ensure all vehicles are prepared prior to transfer or disposal as needed.
Manage vehicle contracts. Develop new business solutions for inactive and special use vehicles.
Coordinate, review, and distribute agreements for loan, special requests, and charity vehicles in cooperation with MBUSI legal.
Ensure activities related to fleet vehicle are compliant with local laws and Daimler and MBUSI policies and regulations.
Communicate directly with management and Team Members to answer, resolve, and/or provide guidance for all potential issues / questions related to the vehicle or program in question.
Create and use reports out of the IFQS database (Internal Vehicle Quality System) as an external Quality sensor for management.
Act as the subject-matter expert for repair, retrofit, and fleet-related issues, and provide information/direction and technical support to the customers.
Manage and ensure fleet vehicle annual license plate renewal, distribution of vehicle insurance cards, completion of shipper requests to obtain vehicle gate cards, and the administration of accident reports.
Act as the key contact for satellite radio. Responsibilities include activation/cancellation, subscription management, invoicing, and accounting.
Ensure required timing of evaluations and repair goals are achieved in order to provide excellent customer service.
Schedule service and repair appointments.
Plan and organize required resources for the daily work -load and also plan and procure required parts for scheduled service and breakdowns.
Secure and stay current on technical knowledge regarding vehicle components, as well the ability to work with electronic diagnostic equipment and computer-based reference manuals.
Create purchase requisitions, and complete monthly service receipts for contract employees and parts.
Create Chargebacks in the Chargeback Database for all production related repair and retrofit activities in the QTC Workshop. Also, create reports.
Schedule, manage, and support retrofits, reworks, and actions to fully utilize the QTC Team and shop capabilities including expanding operations to evening and/or night shift and on weekends and/or holidays. Must be willing and capable to work on weekends and nights as required.
Supervise operations to ensure compliance to company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Analyze data and identify discrepancies related to fleet vehicles. Propose and implement countermeasures for identified issues.
Analyze data and decide whether to lease/buy vehicles for fleet replenishment.
Manage shop tool inventory and ensure availability and replenishment of all required tools and resources.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Computer Science or a related area or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years work experience in a Fleet Management, Project Management, or Project Lead role within a manufacturing or shop environment, or other related role.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Demonstrated experience in leading a team within a repair or fleet environment (or similar shop environment)
Ability to understand and use Mercedes-Benz function groups, damage codes, failure types and parts numbers
Experience in working with vehicle documentation databases
Demonstrated project management experience; working knowledge of project management concepts and principles
Experience in generating reports from various channels/databases; ability to analyze the data, identify discrepancies, and propose countermeasures
High motivation and dedication to Customer Satisfaction
Ability and willingness to manage and coordinate retrofits on second/third shift and/or weekends when and if needed

Preferred Skills:
Experience in working with Daimler systems such as PLUS, MRS, SAP, FLIMS (Fleet Vehicle Disposition Management System), and/or IFQS database (Internal Vehicle Quality System)
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
