Background

The Naval Leadership and Ethics Center (NLEC) provides training to Major Commanders, Commanding Officers, Executive Officers, Command Master Chiefs and Commanding Officer's spouses in all facets of leadership. Curriculum includes real life case studies with direct application to use in the fleet. Students from every specialty in the fleet benefit from the training at NLEC. The Training Administrative Support personnel will provide support to the NLEC with the following:

  • Maintain NLEC student database files throughout the students’ entire administrative and physical reporting process (i.e. class rosters, class reports, and student graduation status)
  • Prepare and create student CDs (i.e. Create CD Labels by community and class number for Command Master Chief (CMC) and Chief of the Boat (COB) class)
  • Receive written/printed assignment material from a designated in-basket and enter data into pertinent automated data systems (i.e. Make specific entries or correct data related to maintaining student quota control)
  • Collect, organize, review and provide information on both oral and written format (i.e. review daily Navy student administrative messages)
  • 360 Assessment Program Assistance (i.e provide support to the 360-degree assessment program manager in carrying out certain administrative duties)
  • Retrieve, review, reconcile and distribute student PCS orders from PSD during eight/nine of class

This is a full-time 5.5 year contract opportunity with benefits available. Work hours are 0600 to 1430.

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience doing similar tasks
  • Experience with the following preferred:
  • Navy Administration
  • Transaction Online Processing System (TOPS)
  • Corporate Enterprise and Training Activity Resource System (CETARS)
  • Fleet Training Management and Planning System (FLTMPS)
  • Official Information Exchange (OIX)
  • Fluent in the daily use of office automation software such as Microsoft Office Suite and equipment such as shredders, fax, copiers, poster makers, scanners, and etc.
