• Wasilla, AlaskaThe Surgery Center of Wasilla is looking for a motivated, detail oriented, Materials Manager. Under the direction of the surgery center Administrator and Director of Nursing, the materials manager is responsible for maintaining adequate supplies for the facility and receiving all items coming into the facility. Evaluating quality and cost of supplies and monitoring prices as needed with Regent and sales representatives. Oversees inventory counts. Utilizes appropriate computer systems to order supplies and maintain inventory system. Assists with accounts payable process. This is a Full- time position. Monday – Friday Days / No Holidays, Call, or Weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Manages & Maintains par levels and ordering of routine / specialty supplies for all departments; Surgery, Recovery, & Business office
- Receives orders, restocks & organizes supplies
- Manages & Maintains professional relationships with vendor reps, physicians, & co-workers
- Negotiates for competitive pricing
- Collaborates with management and staff on needs while maintaining cost efficiency
- Manages & Monitors equipment control, maintenance, & repairs
- Data collection & reporting
- Follows up on back orders and communicates issues as needed
- Informs Administrator and Clinical Director of problem areas.
- Maintains operating room environment.
- Assists in set-up of specialty equipment.
- Coordinates supplies and specialty equipment availability with OR schedule.
- Maintains a charge system that meets the needs of surgical services.
- Reviews / revises charge system in collaboration with clinical staff.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- Interacts with all of the above in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner as observed by Administrator, Clinical Director, and peers.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrates understanding and responsibility in maintaining proper inventory levels under the principles of 'just in time' inventory practices
- Demonstrate appropriate response to schedule changes to avoid delays in providing equipment and overstock of inventories
- Reviews surgical schedule well in advance to anticipate supply needs
- Reports invoice discrepancies to Administrator prior to payment
- Tracks loaned instruments / equipment to and from the facility ensuring integrity of sets / instruments / equipment and ensuring prompt return
- Manage equipment / instrument repairs efficiently, as needed

Required:
- High School Diploma
- Above average computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Minimum 2 years' experience in materials management / purchasing
- Significant computer experience to manage multiple computer systems proficiently
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
Preferred:
- Business Degree
- ASC Experience
- Operating room experience as a surgical technician
