The Sales & Specification Manager will work as part of a team in creating significant sales opportunities on a long-term basis (profitable growth) for multiple SG Glass entities and their upstream as well as downstream customers. To increase sales of glass specifically in the West part of Canada and the USA and other areas as necessary. To generate definite specifications with Architects and other stakeholders enabling SGG through its network of customers to increase sales in Architectural projects, coated glass, OEM and other float glass sales in the West part of Canada and the USA.

Essential Duties:
Implement strategy to develop architects / consultants / contractors located mainly in the West coast area of Canada and the USA
Develop strong relationship with current and potential certified fabricators in the SE USA to develop the market opportunities for coated products sales
Maintain/develop relationship with customers in the commercial (refrigeration/industrial) glass market
Maintain/grow customer base for other flat glass sales in the area (mirror/float/pattern/acid etched)
Maintain a designated customer and prospect database in Sales Force and coordinate activities with Regional Sales Managers in Canada and the US.
Generate budgeting/forecasting files by customer and understand variations to actual data
Attend training activities/seminars and industry events to develop relevant knowledge, network contacts and skills.
Carry out market research, competitor analysis and customer surveys

Remote office based in Vancouver

Travels 10 to 15 weeks/ year. International Staff meetings/Factory visits/customer visits, very frequent (weekly) road trips to local/regional customers

Bachelors Degree in Sales, Marketing, or General Business
3-5 years in a technical/sales position in the architectural/construction industry preferably in the glass/glazing business
Knowledge of architecture / glass applications in construction

Technical understanding of glass and glazing materials, their properties and functions

English and French speaking is essential to interact with the team and players based in Quebec.

Ability to work independent of supervision but as part of a remote team

Good administration and presentation skills using current technologies and software programs (Microsoft/PC based and iPad apps)

Cultural openness (working with International Factories)

Ability to converse well on technical basis

Comfort in dealing with high-profile projects and clients
