THE DEPARTMENT

The Marketing team produces and creates every piece of collateral, website, email, web banner, poster, video, social post, direct mailer, and beautiful brochure from the Globus family of brands. If it features the Globus brands and speaks to our guests and partners, the Marketing team had a hand in creating it. They specialize in promotional direction and execution, external communication to our key audiences, and strategic direction for our products. They’re fiercely passionate about the products we sell and the promotion and packaging in which the product is marketed. Great design, clever ideas, smart writing & superior production are their hallmarks.

THE ROLE

The primary role of the Training Specialist is to champion the development of agent partners leading to increased production. This role includes guiding our agency network and Independent Travel Professional (ITP) and home-based agent marketing efforts. This includes working with the respective Sales Account Manager on strategic planning and development of a yearly marketing calendar for these accounts as well as serving as their marketing consultant for business-building marketing ideas and tactics. In addition to cultivating, and engaging growth in our (ITP) channel segment through on-going and measurable sales and marketing programsAdditionally, this role is the primary source of education and training for our travel advisor distribution channel. This includes product trainings, regional trainings, as well as the development and maintenance of our training program for both our US agents, as well as international markets.

THE POSITION

The Training Specialist is responsible for the following results

  • Own the Globus family of brands travel agent development programs, guiding content, format and consulting on all related activities including incentives and production
  • Currently, this includes management of the University (Gfob U) Training Program, including Avalon Waterways Specialist, Monograms Booking Agent and Globus Tour Expert program. This includes driving all content, layout, execution and testing of the programs, as well as content updates throughout the year when needed. Continue evolution of program to remain industry leading, while ensuring we are training effectively.
  • Track agency performance on related programs and consult with Sales counterparts to maximize/improve production
  • Establish metrics for success of Gfob U, tied to overall agent production
  • Develop and conduct external launch, product and major campaign presentations for each GFOB product release each year for the travel agent channel. Follow-up on all questions submitted during trainings and send attendee lists to Sales for follow-up. Share this content with international markets, as well as Sales team to repurpose as needed. Share additional learnings with eCurriculum manager to assist with best practices.
  • Develop and maintain a system for PowerPoint distribution and adoption for our internal and external sales teams. * Coordinate materials & efforts with internal training team to share assets and content to ensure no duplication of effort and consistent messaging for internal training. Prepare, organize, and develop presentations, and other educational materials for national meeting and executive presentations as needed.
  • Responsible for assisting with strategy, drafting and planning of network marketing plans each year, in conjunction with Sales Manager and Channel Marketing Manager.
  • Be consultant partner for Sales Leader(s) on ITP, home-based and growth prospect agents and accounts, identifying opportunities for increases in production. Meet regularly with Account Manager(s) to review account performance and prospective programs/initiatives to influence growth.
  • Develop on-going home-based and prospect agent Marketing Campaigns to increase agent engagement and sales interaction at the agent level. This means working closely with Outbound Sales position on learning, reporting and sales insights to drive new programs or marketing tactics.
  • In conjunction with our Director of Customer Sales and Manager of Channel Marketing, share common practices that can be utilized within our call center.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining prospect campaigns designed to feed funnel for sales team.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Channel Marketing Specialist to connect activities to national accounts, ensuring we are capitalizing on relevant topics, pertinent to what you are learning in the field through various agent interactions.

EDUCATION

The preferred candidate will hold an Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

The preferred candidate has noteworthy experience in the following areas:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience presenting easily and effectively to make the sale and educate business partners in the leisure travel industry. Ideal level of experience would be four plus years
  • Experience designing training, developing training tools, multimedia visual aids, writing training content & scripts and other educational tools in the leisure travel space.
  • Experience implementing and updating LMS System
  • Leisure travel product knowledge, specifically Globus family of brands products, services, and benefits.
  • Business acumen (business knowledge, competitor awareness, organization strategies)
  • Having “bottom-line” accountability
  • Business process intelligence (understanding internal processes to resolve issues and ability to continuously improve key business processes)
  • Experience executing targeted marketing campaigns * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word. And expert knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Expert knowledge of GoTo Meeting and Snag It or Jing.
  • Some experience working with Camtasia, Ready Talk and Microsoft WebEx.
  • Photoshop, Siebel and On24 experience would be a plus.
