BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, the IM Specialist – Level III is an advanced inventory management specialist able to mentor and perform duties such as but not limited to: complex sales support up to the C-Suite level, complex installations and data collection, vending machine diagnostics and maintenance and training. The level III IM Specialist is expected to have a mastery of tasks pertaining to the installation and maintenance of vending machines.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be proficient, able to mentor team associates and capable of performing vending sales support processes including but not limited to: C-Suite customer engagements, complex implementations, customer item data collections, solution discovery, asset tracking and management, cancellations, post-install support, etc.
  • Supports all designated team goals and objectives.
  • Supports the inventory management needs of the internal and external customer in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate records following all MSC policies and procedures documented in the associate handbook.
  • Assist with all phases of the IM Specialist new hire onboarding process when applicable.
  • Interacts with customers and associates in a positive and constructive manner.
  • In support of MSC’s Lean initiatives, evaluate, document and recommend changes in methods and procedures to maximize efficiency and promote overall team success.
  • Support Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • An Associate’s Degree or the equivalent is required
  • Three years of general sales experience is required (outside sales, solutions sales, etc.)
  • Min 2 years supporting value-added customer solutions / inventory management programs required
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and/or software preferred
  • Knowledge of MSC-like product lines/services & MSC experience is preferred

**PLEASE NOTE: MSC associates having successfully completed three years on the inventory management team qualify for this role. Three years IM experience is equivalent to the requirements listed above.

SKILLS:

  • Selling & negotiation skills required
  • Organizational & time management skills required
  • Computer literacy & proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet & presentation software required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid driver’s license & the ability to travel 75-85% including overnight is required.
  • Must possess basic knowledge and use of hand and power tools.
  • Able to perform physical activities such as lifting up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various types of industrial environments
  • Must adhere to customer specific requirements such as wearing hardhats, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, etc.
