Primary Objectives:

The Business Development Manager is responsible to drive growth through Henkels & McCoy Power and Renewables lines of business. This will be accomplished by development and implementation of a tactical plan to identify, contact and qualify prospects to assess project opportunities.

Through a Business Development process the individual will create a work plan that will include reviewing lead sources, identifying key decision-makers and influencers, establishing capture strategies and deploying the appropriate operations resources to assist in gaining project awards. Once awarded, the Business Development Manager will develop and implement account management strategies to ensure Henkels & McCoy continues to meet customer expectations.

The Business Development Manager will keep detailed records of customer interface and opportunity development activities within Henkels & McCoy’s database tool (Salesforce.com) and disseminate market information to appropriate operations teams.

Major Elements:

  • Team with the Director of Business Development and Operations to develop and implement sales development strategies in support of overall corporate and regional business development goals.
  • Support RFQ and RFP submittal efforts on selected accounts and targeted prospects.
  • Manage the internal bid proposal process during the initiation phase until the handoff to operations at the internal kick-off meeting
  • Report-out on opportunity development status to Henkels & McCoy operations teams.
  • Participate in Sales & Marketing opportunity development and status conference calls.
  • Support Yearly Business Plan development for Power and Renewables Lines of Business.
  • Participate in regional and national tradeshows.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years proven sales development experience in an outside field sales position or other customer service oriented experience focusing on electrical energy providers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Construction related field.
  • Must have B2B Sales Development experience.
  • Strong organizational and communications skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout a multi-state region, as necessary, is required.
  • Good knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution providers is preferred.
  • Experience in electrical power and/or renewable power Business Development or Sales
