Position Overview

The Senior Consulting Principal drives is a critical role in the Consulting practice. This person owns a given territory, with the Regional Consulting Manager (RCM) and is ultimately responsible for driving consulting services sales and customer satisfaction in their territory. This includes both proactive and reactive management of customers. The position will interact with multiple levels of customer contacts though C-Level, and with internal departments such as Sales, executive management, Support, Operations, Product Management, and other internal Consulting resources. This person will blend strong consulting experience, sales experience, and security domain experience to provide Symantec Product Account Manager’s a resource to best explain how Symantec solutions will successfully be deployed and how other consulting engagements will empower our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business and upsell opportunities through interaction with new and existing customers, in preparation of quotes, Statements of Work and Proposals
  • Be able to support Product Account Managers in discussions with customers about Cyber Security domain issues by referencing past projects executed and led.
  • Represents the organization as the principal promoter of Symantec Consulting Services across other Symantec divisions
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding territory and quota attainment, for forecasting accurate business to Consulting and Sales management, and building pipeline
  • Expert in promoting the portfolio of services both internally and externally
  • Responsible for managing a portfolio of customers. The RCM executes a comprehensive proactive and reactive contact strategy, which includes but is not limited to monthly touch points, quarterly account reviews, escalation handling, churn management and updates on our services
  • Work as a team with other Principals, RCMs, Technical Managers and Management. Proactive communication and cooperation with team and management
  • Skilled at recognizing services fit for customer organizations
  • Interacts with management and senior personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines
  • Participate in media, tradeshow and other marketing activities
  • Participates in cross-functional groups to drive business efficiency and service direction
  • Adhere to internal process requirements and navigate guidelines
  • Facilitate internal administrative functions for consulting activities
  • This role will involve regional travel and possibly global travel when needed

Qualifications

  • College Degree in MIS or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years in an IT consulting sales and/or business development role with a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar quotas annually
  • Preferred 4 years’ experience executing Cyber Security projects
  • For Federal RCM roles, experience in working with the Federal government a must
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work within a team atmosphere
  • Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal
  • A self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
  • Sales experience required
  • Familiarity with Symantec technology is great
  • Windows experience along with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SFDC
  • Have the personal drive to go above and beyond as required.
