Overview

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for all aspects of sales of industrial, medical and specialty cylinders, hard goods, small bulk gas sales to include liquid and tube trailer oxygen, nitrogen, argon, tube trailer hydrogen, liquid carbon dioxide, related distribution and application equipment. Reports to the Region General Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain high level of personal safety performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive profitable growth of the territory business.
  • Prospect for new business opportunities
  • Negotiate new account and existing account contract/purchase order renewals.
  • Manage existing business portfolio to maximize gross profit to include price improvements.
  • Provide first line product and application support to customers and prospects.
  • Coordinate and manage communication and support between Customer and MTG.
  • Report sales activity timely to sales management.
  • Identify large bulk gas opportunities and hand-off to bulk gas counterpart.
  • Perform site surveys for new installations.
  • Support collections process as required.
  • Report sales activities in required format and per schedule determined by Region Management
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
HOURS OF WORK: Typical hours for this position are going to match the requirements of the customer base Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Hazardous materials training and certification

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BS Engineering (Welding, Mechanical or Chemical preferred); Business Administration, or Equivalent Education and/or Experience Substitution.
  • Conceptual understanding of industrial gas products. Production, distribution, equipment and applications.
  • Three years or more industrial gases sales or operations.
  • Five Years or more industrial sales experience.
  • Computer skills include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook.
