The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator. As a Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator, you will responsible for monitoring and documenting inconsistencies that pertain to the safety and security of the corporation’s employees, facilities, and property. Using a variety of tools that range from access control and alarm monitoring system to various business intelligence sources, open source media, Internet and in-house tools. The SOC Operator is required to detect, analyze, and alert others regarding any adverse conditions to the corporation and its employees. These may range from extreme weather conditions, political instability, crime, terror, to technical failures. The position monitors all security, communications and fire/life safety systems and reports functionally to the Director of Global Protective Services or Designee and administratively to the SOC Supervisor and the National Account Manager of the current contract security services supplier.

Main Responsibilities
Specific Duties and Essential Functions

Monitor Situational Awareness Information Resources: continually monitor the content of commercial information resources including TV and Internet Media, BCD and International SOS Services Advisories, client email Inbox, for nature caused disruptive events and human caused disruptive incidents that may, will or have disrupted the business operations of our client
Nature Caused Disruptive Events: Escalate and respond to natural disruptive events that may, will or have disrupted the business operations of our client as directed by the GSOC Hot Sheets and Global Duty Manager
Human Caused Disruptive Incidents: Escalate and respond to human disruptive events that may, will or have disrupted the business operations of our client as directed by the GSOC Hot Sheets and Global Duty Manager
Systems Caused Alarms and Disruptive Incidents: Monitor, escalate and respond to systems (hardware, software and sub-systems) alarms and disruptive events that may, will or have disrupted the business operations of our client as directed by the GSOC Hot Sheets and Global Duty Manager.
Global Duty Manager: Promptly notify the GDM (GPS Global Duty Manager) as directed by procedures
Emergency Notification System (MIR3): Operate and Administer the ENS System as directed by procedures
Photo Badging and Access Administration: Administer the Photo Badging function and complete all Badge Production and Access Administration Requests, as directed by procedures, received during the shift. Assist other shifts with badge production and access administration as needed to ensure a back-log is avoided
TPP (Traveler Protection Program) Administration: Monitor the Outlook Inbox for TPP related communications and complete all TPP required related requirements including communications, documents and forms, as directed by procedures. Assist other shifts as needed to ensure a back-log is avoided
Global Trade Compliance and Denied Party Screening: Monitor the Outlook Inbox for EASE Alerts and complete the vetting process as directed by procedures
Security Service Calls: Dispatch Security Personnel to complete requested internal GPS and external Client Service Calls.
Systems Audits: Perform start of shift operational audits of all hardware systems to ensure proper functionality including phones and radios
Work Orders: Monitor the client email Inbox for work orders and process as directed by procedures
Perform other GSOC duties as they may be assigned

The Ideal Candidate
Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Ability to meet and maintain any applicable state licensing requirements

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

Two (2) years of continuous successful law enforcement, security, or military experience
Six (6) months or more of verifiable work experience supervising individuals on multiple shifts

Skills Required

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
Effective oral and written communication skills
Active listening skills
Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
Attention to detail

Other

Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States

Must possess each of the following:
Advanced computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to multi-task, discerns patterns in detail
Excellent verbal/writing skills
Ability to think through problems for logical solutions, and remain calm and professional under stress
Ability to speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies

Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures

Major activity: Sitting, standing, speaking, listening, observing, bending

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Occasionally maneuver up to 40lbs, Sitting, and standing. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
