Customer Service Rep - Main Branch

Opens all types of new accounts, cross sells basic banking products and services, and responds to customer requests, ensuring compliance with established bank procedures and regulatory requirements by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides excellent service to branch customers; opens new accounts, sells basic bank products and services, and makes referrals and cross sells the products and services of other areas of the bank.
  • Assists customers with account reconciliation, responds to account related questions, and performs research.
  • Processes stop payments and lost/stolen items on checking and saving accounts.
  • Closes accounts upon customer's request or as directed by supervisor, updates customer information, and prepares and mails customer correspondence.
  • Maintains awareness of bank and Federal policies, procedures, and/or regulations and keeps up-to-date on required training.
  • May process incoming and outgoing collections, wires and phone transfers, and requests for transfers between accounts. May act as Vault Teller and/or Safe Deposit Attendant.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: Eighteen months banking experience including six months Teller experience; or two years customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
Preferred: Familiarity with FNBA products and procedures; sales experience.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to keyboard 35 wpm, operate a 10-key calculator and general office machines required. Word processing and spreadsheet experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to apply common sense understanding while carrying out written, oral, or diagram instructions; and to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
