Position Summary

The position is responsible for market prospecting, account opportunity qualification, opening new accounts, growing accounts to a revenue that is classified as ongoing. Management of territory sales growth activities, account selection, account service for the specified territory. Incumbent must relate with customers using strong logic driven approach. The position supports a lean safe environment; while focusing on continuous improvement, quality and teamwork.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate the activities between sales, materials & planning, quality, manufacturing, and other associates as needed.
  • Handle customer calls as needed.
  • Inform customer of delivery information as needed.
  • Process orders received via fax, email or personally from customer. Monitor Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transmissions to ensure accuracy and proper processing.
  • Enter territory cases into CRM.
  • Establish rapport with potential customers.
  • Resolve customer dissatisfaction by directing the receipt, investigation, evaluation, and settling of complaints and claims; follow up with customers to resolve demanding situations.
  • Update customers by providing them with information regarding services.
  • Establish new customer accounts and update records of same.
  • Act as liaison for internal and external communications with assigned accounts. Manage ongoing conference calls and ensure a positive relationship with assigned accounts.
  • Perform customer service/order entry as well as backup duties for other territories as required.
  • Monitor shipment schedule for customers within assigned territories.
  • Understand and adhere to the Quality Management System.

Marginal / Less Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends, market trends, competitor trends impacting the assigned territory.
  • Host visiting customers and potential customers, sales engineers, and sales representatives.

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration is preferred.
  • Fluency in speaking and writing English.

Other Qualifications Desired

Training & Experience

  • Three to five years’ experience in Business to Business sales required.
  • CRM systems, quality/continuous improvement initiatives, and manufacturing safety practices.
  • Six months of sales/customer service experience in managing large territories and diverse services.
  • Working expert knowledge of and experience with personal computers, specifically operating within a Windows based environment or other applicable software applications such as ERP and CRM systems.
  • Expert with Excel, PowerPoint and Word (strong ability to create presentations and proposals efficiently).
  • Broad conceptual judgment, initiative, and ability to deal with complex customer issues.
  • Advanced research skills.
  • Passion for continuous improvement.
  • Strong logic-based problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented.

License Required: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet requirements set by KHTL insurance carrier.

Visual Acuity: Ability to meet the minimum essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment utilizing personal computer, phone and related office equipment. May sit or stand as needed. Constant use of upper extremities. Occasional reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Daily visits to manufacturing facilities with exposure to hazards of moving equipment and automated machinery. Infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs.

Salary commensurate with experience plus commission.
