Position Summary
This technical position based in sales operations has the responsibility for driving continuous improvement in our customer relationships by providing proactive communication, oversight of quoting and customer purchase order activities. The Sales Operations Manager will work with key cross functional team to proactively analyze and grow the business within profitability guidelines. Primary responsibilities include direct quoting responsibilities and management of Customer Service and Technical Sales. This role will be located in Mansfield, MA and reports to the Director, Sales Operations.

Principal Responsibilities
Management Activities:
Manage the department through setting performance objectives and conducting established performance review activities. Engage employees through motivation in daily activities, one on one meetings, team meetings, and coaching on a consistent basis.
Coordinate and communicate with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, QA/RA, Finance, Customer Service, and Senior Management on the development project timelines and/or other customer service related issues.
Cultivate business relationships with customers through frequent communication and on-site customer visits.
Track department metrics and communicate trends with the ability to interpret and react to department metrics effectively.
Studies, standardizes, recommends and implements new systems/procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
Effectively present information to on-site and/or off-site senior management.
Customer Service Activities:
Responsible for order processing activities: alignment of customer purchase orders against active quotes, quality system alignment, complaint investigation, returns and accounts receivable issues.
Coordination of Customer Service processes with Field Sales Team, Purchasing, Finance, Production, Engineering, Quality and Shipping.
Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers (internal and external) and regulatory agencies.
Coordinate activities to prepare and analyze customer purchasing activities to determine anomalies. Work with the sales team to investigate and improve any gaps in purchasing activities.
Subject Matter Expert in SAP activities related to Customer Service areas of responsibility.
Subject Matter Expert in SOP’s for Customer Service activities. Ensure any changes to SOP’s are appropriately updated in the OEM quality system.
Technical Sales Activities:
Manage quoting workload to maintain an 80% quote turnaround responsive rate equal to or less than 48 hours. Includes direct quoting activities of complex and project related quoting activities.
Develop pricing strategy and determine pricing model for key and new accounts based on company's pricing guidelines, market trends, and product life cycle.
Assist in the preparation, formalization and negotiation of customer contracts (terms, conditions, product volumes, and prices) for customers.
Prepare, analyze and educate management on the results of quotation metrics and make the appropriate recommendation to senior management on how to advance the business.
Keep management abreast of market conditions, product performance, and make recommendations for future growth potential such as acquisitions, new market strategies, new product development based on market trends, etc.
Meet with potential customers to explain/recommend Teleflex Medical OEM’s products, design capabilities, and production facility capabilities.
Provide Technical Sales Support as it relates to the product line to customers & Sales Representatives.
In conjunction with Sales Managers, monitor and control customer performance to plan, and develop and implement progressive measures to assist customers in achieving stated sales objectives.
Evaluate territory performance of House Accounts against established objectives/guidelines (sales forecast, budget, number of new accounts, etc.) and take appropriate action to improve performance.
In conjunction with Sales Managers, provide accurate forecast of sales by customer and products.
Assist in set up of and attend trade shows, consult industry directories, and follow up on new and existing customer leads.

Education / Experience Requirements

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree preferred. Engineering or technical equivalent preferred.

Minimum of two years’ experience working in the medical device space required.

Demonstrated experience in administering complex sales processes preferred.

Minimum of two years’ experience supervising a team preferred.

Comparable ERP system experience required. Working knowledge of SAP preferred.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a broad spectrum of people having varying backgrounds, education, and experience.

Good decision making, time management, personnel leadership skills, analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.

Strong Project Management Skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.

Must have a high degree of initiative and the ability to multi-task.

Exceptional problem solving and the ability to work independently

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment

High level of organization, attention to detail and accuracy
