We are searching for an experienced Product Manager who is well versed in capturing customer’s expectations and preferences (VOC), is passionate about solving users’ problems, embraces accountability, enjoys working across all functions of the organization, has strong intellectual curiosity and loves taking share from competitors.

Position Summary

Reporting to the EVP of the Hardware Division and working out of our Memphis, TN office, this leadership role is accountable for the overall health and performance of multiple consumer/DIY tool categories and brands that are sold into hardware, home improvement, farm/ag and eCommerce channels.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops multi-year, multi-generational new product strategies, roadmaps and plans for assigned product categories
  • Proactively manages portfolio of products to include pricing strategies, annual SKU rationalization process and margin enhancement efforts to achieve growth targets for both new and legacy products
  • Manages new product development projects from ideation through commercialization
  • Prepares financial analysis for product portfolio evaluation and decision making
  • Provides Sales Organization with appropriate product knowledge training, support and tools to successfully grow share
  • Collaborates with Marketing Team on content and packaging development
  • Conducts market/user-based research to understand need-based opportunities to drive pipeline of new product ideas
  • Participates in key account presentations and line reviews
  • Attends trade shows and industry events to keep current of industry and market trends
  • Analyzes and interprets competitive activities and reports to Senior Management as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering required
  • A minimum of 5 years’ Product Management experience in the consumer products space; preferably tools or equipment
  • Strong communication & presentation skills; both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to manage the needs and concerns of multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working within a global supply chain structure is a plus
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time both domestically and internationally
  • Advanced skills in planning, prioritizing, organizing and clearly defining objectives
  • Experienced in executing plans under tight deadlines and time constraints
  • Highly proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Strong business acumen
