As the Supply Chain Demand Planner, you will be responsible for developing statistically based forecast information for individual items within certain product lines. You will develop forecasting models as required to analyze and product forecast information. One of your goals will be accountable for achieving annual inventory turn, product availability and forecast accuracy goals.

Required Experience:

Analyzes historical information for the purpose of developing statistically based forecast information for individual items within certain product lines. Develops forecasting models as required to analyze and produce forecast information. Participates in demand and inventory planning activities and develops proficiency in the use of the current tools being used by the Supply Chain Management department for forecasting and procurement. Interfaces with other business units as is appropriate to perform the essential duties and responsibilities as outlined below.

Perform statistical analysis on historical product demand information to analyze and predict future demand.

  • Develop statistical models using means, standard deviation and trend lines to produce product demand profiles.
  • Present forecast information in a manner suitable for use by Forecasting, MRP processes and Marketing/Sales.
  • Develop proficiency in the use of the tools in use by the Supply Chain Management department for forecasting and inventory procurement.
  • Research and collect intuitive information required to forecast demand for product not having statistically significant demand history.
  • Take the actions required to facilitate the acquisition of inventory to meet demand on a timely basis.
  • Be a contributing member of the Supply Chain Management Team.
  • Lead the Monthly Demand Review meetings. Collaborate with Sales and Product Development partners to gather data needed to develop an accurate forecast.
  • Accountable for achieving annual Inventory Turn, Product Availability and Forecast Accuracy goals

Education/Experience:

  • Four year degree preferred or comparable experience.
  • Two or more years of practical experience in the area of inventory management, supply chain management, and forecasting. This qualification is preferred but is not required to be considered for the position.

Language Ability:

Ability to write procedures documentation for the department, routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of DEMDACO.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and algebraic fundamentals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Computer Skills:

Competent with word processing software; spreadsheet software; internet software; and sales order processing/inventory/MRP/purchase order processing software and should have a good level of understanding of accounting systems.
