The Strategic Market Research Manager is responsible for managing and fulfilling the market research needs of the Global Executive team and the regional business unit teams. This includes sourcing and interpreting industry research reports, conducting various types of analyses including market size, pricing, core competency / competition, assessing new business and product opportunities, interviewing current and potential end users of our equipment and producing actionable business intelligence for the senior executives and sales teams. This position is responsible for the development of the annual Strategic Market Development Plan and actively supports the development of the 5 year Strategic Plan through the provision of accurate and insightful research and analysis.
The Strategic Market Research Manager is a strategic thinker who targets profitable growth by identifying opportunities (organic and inorganic) to develop and market new products, services or solutions. S/he uses this competence to analyze business needs and to develop appropriate strategies and models for a successful strategic marketing function within Southworth International Group and its business units.
Qualifications – Skills and Experience
- University degree in Economics, Engineering, Management, Marketing, Statistics or related field. MBA / relevant Master’s degree preferred
- High level of business acumen, understanding our business and actively seeking opportunities to support in the growth and development of the business
- Entrepreneurial, inquisitive approach. Desire to learn about new markets and new businesses
- Excellent research and data analysis skills
- Ability to design research projects, to interpret data and to produce concise, actionable and business-oriented reports for senior executives
- Experience managing team of research professionals
- Full familiarity with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SPSS or other statistical software is a plus
- Ability to self-direct and to take full ownership of projects, developing, initiating and managing multiple projects and delivering on deadline
- International experience in business research role. Strong intercultural awareness. Willingness to travel
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to seek and accept feedback, to grow and to develop
