This position will manage a general range of accounting clerical and administrative functions such as support team members with processing accounts payable, training, and researching issues. In this role, the Merchandise Accounts Payable Consultant will assume additional accounts payable functions as well as undertake the more complex supplier related issues. They will assist with resolving supplier payment and invoice variances and inventory discrepancies. They will also be responsible for the training of new hires and existing team members.

o Cash discount discrepancies
o Receiving error resolution
Required Qualifications
2 or more years experiences with Accounts Payable or financial record-keeping

High school diploma/GED required.

Job Responsibilities:
- Research, analyze, and resolve supplier issues in a timely, accurate and professional manner
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency at all times and respond to issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Research Supplier Correspondence related to the following as well as to analyze the differences as it relates to payment variances:
o Pricing discrepancies
o Allowance discrepancies
o Case pack/unit of measure issues
o Missing invoices/EDI issues
o Cash discount discrepancies
o Receiving error resolution
- Process adjustments and payments in accordance with the CVS Supplier Policy
- Process payments for EFT vendors and import invoices
- Invoice entry – via manual entry or performing excel uploads
- Work with Supplier/EDI management to resolve EDI issues
- Work with suppliers and external CVS departments (including but not limited to: merchandisers, logistics team, item set up team, warehouse/store teams) to resolve supplier issues.
- Train new hires and review processes with existing team members
- Handle/work with team members on the more complicated vendor correspondence issues and assist team members with questions on vendor issues
- Cross train on individual tasks/processes
- Working with the Management Team, make recommendations to streamline/improve processes within Accounts Payable
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
2 or more years experiences with Accounts Payable or financial record-keeping
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in multiple ERP systems, specifically SAP and PeopleSoft
- Experience within a large, retail organization
- Clear understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Payable best practices
- Excellent decision making ability and independent reasoning skills
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written and strong interpersonal skills) with an ability to communicate professionally with staff, leadership
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and must be able to accurately enter formulas in Excel for calculation
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent ability to work with others internal to Accounts Payable and outside of Accounts Payable
