Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical field related to the position or equivalent training and experience and at least 2 years' of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance in regulated business systems, such as procurement and supply chain that includes ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 is desired.
  • Nuclear background preferred, but not required.
  • Able to exercise high degree of accuracy required in writing technical documents and ensuring all Company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Must possess independent judgment, creativity, initiative, and ability to apply knowledge and experience to resolve problems, compose correspondence and technical reports, and accomplish goals where established procedures may not be specific.
  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities of the work assignment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse receiving, material control, and receiving inspection operations to include planning, verification, and supervising others in the performance of verification activities is desirable.
  • Ability to verify and document the results of inspections of procured items in accordance with documented procedures, acceptance standards, and/or industry practices.
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required.
  • MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program. Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

Responsibilities

  • Conduct studies and make recommendations in response to potential or actual quality problems, and to the Quality Assurance Program.
  • Assist other quality assurance professionals in the development and implementation of methods for promoting quality assurance.
  • Provide instruction and/or material to assist field personnel in quality assurance matters.
  • Perform surveillances of operations to determine compliance with codes.
  • Ensure timely and orderly completion of inspections, assessments, and reports.
  • Assists in quality training activities.
  • Review material and equipment requisitions for adherence to quality standards and codes.
  • Provides QA related support to the continuing development, maintenance, implementation, and institutionalization of the company’s Quality Assurance Program.
  • Recommend actions related to non-compliance and follow through to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain awareness of current additions or revisions to quality standards and procedures and apply them to work responsibilities as required.
  • Conducts research, data compilation, and data analysis.
  • Executes work in a disciplined manner to demonstrate compliance with laws, codes, orders, and MSTS policies and procedures.
  • Recommends solutions for a range of complex problems and issues.
  • Perform duties relating to independent verification and receiving inspection of procured Quality materials for line organizations
  • Generates non-conformance reports.
