Work Shift:

1ST SHIFT (United States of America)

This position reports to the Sr. CCM and supports Category Leadership efforts by providing ad-hoc category and shopper analytics and developing actionable recommendations to drive category/brand growth.

  • Utilizes Department & Category Leadership Platforms to create actionable and relevant insights that can be applied to retailer-specific category strategic and tactical plans, including:
  • Shopper insights
  • Shelving guidelines
  • Macro space (customized syndicated data pulls and analysis)
  • Developing and building assortment builds for demand transfer projects:
  • Building and analyzing cumulative sales and illustrating inefficiencies by SKU
  • Building and analyzing ROM (rest of market) SKU ranking and opportunities
  • Forecasting new item adds / innovation / cannibalization
  • Applies Albertsons/Safeway internal EYC analysis to create category and brand growth recommendations
  • Develops recommended core POGs incorporating optimal assortment and merchandising principles
  • Assists in developing insight-based recommendations of space management, sales, distribution, pricing and promotion
  • Leads TPD forecasting and performance scorecarding for accounts

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4-6 years in category management/shopper insights in Consumer Packaged Goods, preferably with both field and HQ experience. Food industry experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in leading category management customer engagements with major Food, Drug or Mass retailers
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to drive business results
  • Superior analytic experience - knowledge of developing category leadership platforms with shopper and consumer insights, syndicated sources, and primary and secondary research
  • Advanced-level Nielsen/IRI syndicated data usage and understanding
  • Experience with retailer specific data (i.e. EYC, 84.51) is a plus
  • Must be comfortable presenting to Sr. Mgmt. and voicing opinion to team
