The Vice President for Medical Group Operations, under the direction of the CEO, is responsible for the overall direction, leadership and operational management of all clinic-based medical practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring positive, collaborative relations with employed physicians and advance practice clinicians.
  • Overseeing the implementation, enhancement and utilization of information technology within the practices.
  • Utilizing data to measure and improve clinical and operational performance.
  • Developing compensation programs for physicians and associate clinicians that reward and incentivize delivery of quality care and productivity.
  • Improving the financial performance of the medical group.
  • Advancing population health capabilities within the medical group practices.
  • Implementing systems to measure and continuously improve quality metrics and patient satisfaction results.
  • Recruiting and orienting new providers.
  • Planning new and enhanced clinical programs and services.
  • Works closely in a dyad relationship with the Chief Medical Director and participates in the Medical Management Committee

Minimum Education

  • Master Degree in Health Care Administration, Business or other related field preferred, or Bachelor Degree and equivalent experience.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 5 - 7 years of executive leadership experience in multi-specialty group practices or integrated healthcare systems. Requires a thorough understanding of medical practice management.
  • Experience in formalized business and strategic planning activities, management and financial planning and budgetary control costs.

  • Demonstrated success in planning and directing new programs to meet the public’s increasing health and social needs.
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to work effectively in a multi cultured and unionized setting. Proven ability to create and maintain a positive environment for employees.
  • Record of achievement in organization building and management development; proven ability to attract high quality leadership; comfortable with performance measurement and leadership development.
  • Proven track record of driving change in a large organization.
  • Demonstrated success in developing strong relationships with Senior Leadership to collaborate on operational improvements
