Sales Trainer/Sr. Trainer

Trains sales representatives on product knowledge, sales skills, and interpersonal skills. Facilitates management and business acumen training. Develops new tools to leverage current and future marketing approaches and overall sales strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates and delivers Technical and Sales skill training programs and workshops. Core audience is Sales Reps and new Regional Managers (1 week to 2 years in role).
  • Delivers Interpersonal skills (e.g.DiSC) training, advanced sales representative training (e.g Coaching & Facilitation Training, and core management curriculum (e.g. Situational Leadership II, Inside Out Coaching).
  • Oversees logistics of training programs in partnership with OD Coordinator.
  • Coaches Sales Representative selling skills during initial training and field rides.
  • Coaches-Situational Leadership II - upon completion of Management Curriculum training.
  • Reinforces Management Curriculum training with Home Office and Field Based Sales Management.
  • Mentors and trains new reps.
  • Partners with Subject Matter Experts to deliver technical training to field sales and management team.
  • Conducts needs assessment with internal and external customers to assess training and development needs.
  • Partners with the business to work with targeted strategic customers to grow the business.
  • Conducts Needs Analysis with Subject Matter Experts and Client Groups to determine learning and application gaps.
  • Designs and develops training for application workshops at sales meetings (Zone meetings, Region meetings, National Sales Meetings.)
  • Applies ADDIE Methodology to create leader guides for sustainability.
  • Leads local region teams and participates in Local Project Teams. Completes other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Candidate will be hired in at the level commensurate with experience, education and business need.

Sales Trainer
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Business, or a discipline closely related to the pharmaceutical industry (science, industrial engineering, etc.) with five (5) years sales experience is required.
  • One to three (1-3) years in sales training roles is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, needs assessments, and coordination of people and resources
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, group behavior, motivational theories, selling techniques, and communication techniques
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles and methods for training design and measurement of training effectiveness
  • Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated skills and success in communicating with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills across diverse workforce
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to travel regionally 10-20% of the time.
Senior Sales Trainer Requirements:
  • B.S. /B.A. in Education, Business, or a discipline closely related to the pharmaceutical industry (science, industrial engineering, etc.) is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of training-related experience in a Pharmaceutical (preferred) or related business (chemicals, food, or other similarly-regulated environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Sales experience in the Animal Health (preferred), pharmaceutical or related business.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, needs assessments, competency development, and coordination of people and resources
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, group behavior, motivational theories, selling techniques, and communication techniques
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design and measurement of training effectiveness
  • Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implementation solutions.
  • Demonstrated skills and success in communicating with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills across diverse workforce
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to travel regionally 10-20% of the time.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
